The website was down for the rebuild when a snowstorm hit and knocked the satellite dish completely off, so I was stuck with ProSieben and SF1 as my only television options. Don’t ask me why I was watching either one.

I caught part of some competition show on Swiss TV where cantons were competing against each other and I understood maybe half of it because everyone’s screaming in their own dialect. Every single canton has its own way of saying good evening. I genuinely don’t know why. You’d think someone would eventually just say fine, we’re all speaking standard German from now on, but apparently that’s not how Switzerland works. It’s like the whole country committed to being as fragmented as possible on principle.

School’s been okay but everyone else already has their winter break and we don’t get out until Friday afternoon, which sucks. I still haven’t bought a single Christmas present, which means I’ll panic and do the entire thing on December 23rd like I do every year.

Ran into an old friend the other day who’s between jobs and waiting to hear back from universities. He’s got a solid GPA, everything looks decent on paper, but somehow none of it adds up to anything obvious. I’d probably be studying business informatics by now if I’d been more diligent in school, and honestly when I think about four years of spreadsheets and databases I feel genuinely lucky I was too lazy to end up there. Dodged a bullet.

Got comments working on the site. Should probably actually use them.
