Wii Day

The Wii hit shelves across Europe this morning. Everyone’s trying to find stock and I’m stuck broke watching from the sidelines, which is annoying because my friends are all diving in.

Wii Sports will probably be the gateway drug—nothing fancy, just motion controls and moving your body. An extra controller makes all the difference. The real game we’re waiting for is Smash Bros. Brawl. We’ve been hyped about this since the N64 version. Playing as Mario or Link or a genuinely hot Samus, wrecking people—that’s the whole thing. Good music, good friends, a couple beers. That’s the weekend.

Zelda’s finally coming too, which is something. Nintendo kept pushing it back until I basically stopped believing it would ever come out.

I’ll probably grab a console in a few weeks once this launch madness settles. Until then, you PS3 and Xbox people can enjoy what you’ve got.
