Another Smash

I remember the original Smash Bros. feeling like a cheat code—minimal learning curve, maximum chaos, everyone suddenly good. Brawl’s the bigger version now, fatter roster, more stages, motion controls that feel tacked on. The question is whether bigger actually means better, and I don’t have an answer yet.

But the core is still intact: throw everyone on screen, let the button-mashing happen, and it works. That part doesn’t evolve—it just persists.

For people without the GameCube copy, this is the version to get. For those of us who were there, I’m not convinced it changes the equation. Still, I’ll probably play it. That’s the cycle.
