A Crawl in Name Only
Ben showed up at my door out of nowhere, months since I’d seen him last. He’d apparently set a whole pub crawl in motion through conversations I didn’t even know about. People started trickling in and we headed to the first bar, the Balu.
Ana, my best friend, was already several drinks in before the night really started. I made a halfhearted attempt to slow her down but mostly just went with it. A lot of old faces packed in, mixed with newer ones, and it had that quality of how things felt years ago when everyone was still in the same orbit.
After midnight we moved to the Chap, where I ended up running into my ex’s little brother and his friend. Just one of those nights where you drink and flirt and sing loud and it all somehow works. Nothing else matters but the fact that it’s happening.
Tonight’s doing it again at André’s—another video night with drinks and a loose party. I’m finally watching Eurotrip, which I’ve managed to never get around to. Olé.
