8th & Ocean
I don’t usually watch MTV shows. Not the one where the guy customizes cars, not the renovation guys, not whatever’s trendy this week. Someone cheating with their ex, someone else’s mother, an influencer selling foot detox—it all blurs together. The Real World was somehow more interesting. Everything now just feels like they’re grasping.
Then 8th & Ocean showed up. Ten aspiring models, the usual troubles: relationships aren’t working, skin isn’t cooperating, and modeling is supposedly the hardest business in the world (at least according to everyone on the show). Nothing revolutionary. But the production is sharp. Good music, clean cuts, satisfying sound design. It looks impeccable.
Maybe that’s why I watch. Or maybe I just miss The O.C., California. Honestly, that’s probably it.
