Caught #2

Pete Doherty was on it. Lily Allen. Ladyhawke doing that synth thing I could listen to forever. And Sigur Rós—”Saeglopur”—starting as almost nothing, just this quiet moment, before it opens into what feels like a gentle emotional explosion.

There’s something about gathering songs together, seeing which ones want to sit next to each other. Not a concept, not a theme, just what speaks to what. You start to understand your own listening better—what you’ve actually been drawn to, what’s been orbiting your head. The songs tell you things about yourself you didn’t quite know.

The next one’s supposed to have the Bee Gees and ABBA. I’m only halfway joking.
