Built Hammered
Came home from Knaack completely wrecked and somehow decided that tonight was the night to tear apart and rebuild the entire site. Not my smartest call, but I was past the point where I could talk myself out of anything, which actually turned out to be useful. You overthink design when you’re sober. When you’re this gone you just move things around and if they look right you leave them.
The whole thing happened on the floor. Computer Arts was open to something I’d been staring at earlier, there was this Turkish pizza I’d bought somewhere and carried around the whole night without eating, and I’d been living off aspirin. I had a Cobrasnake photo stuck in my head that fit the mood, so I used that as the anchor and built outward. No plan. Just drunk instinct and whatever was close enough to grab.
I’m not going to sit here and explain what the layout is or pretend I know why it works. I’m still not done—the subpages are a disaster, comments section is broken, and I’ll probably change half of it tomorrow when I can actually see straight. But getting drunk and just building something, not worrying if it’s clever or correct, turned out better than I expected. Maybe that’s the hangover talking. Either way it’s done enough.
Made schnitzel when I finished. Heavy, greasy, the kind of food that doesn’t fix anything but feels necessary anyway.
