Just Looking

I love looking at photographs. All of them—professional work, terrible phone shots, fashion, explicit imagery, random beautiful accidents. There’s nothing words can do that an image can’t do better.

I’m terrible at making them though. Give me a camera and something goes wrong every time. Framing’s off, light’s wrong, composition falls apart. I understand what makes a good image work, but I can’t create it. I’m fluent in the language but I can’t speak it.

So I live in other people’s images instead. The more mixed the better. High fashion next to drunk selfies next to explicit material next to random architectural details. No filter between different kinds of imagery, just whoever found something worth looking at. That unfiltered pile of human visual judgment is what actually pulls me in.
