Yoshi’s Story

Yoshi’s Story got written off when it came out—too cute, too simple, made for kids. But all the care went into the visuals. Those painted backgrounds, the color handling, the restraint in every frame. As a designer, that’s what brings me back. It’s the kind of game that doesn’t feel like much until you understand what it took to make it look and feel exactly like this. Then you realize you’re playing something genuinely smart, and you understand that was always the whole point.
