Deer Heads on the Water
The Jägermeister Wirtshaus Tour is one of those traveling beer hall concepts that shows up every year with the same setup: mounted deer heads on the walls, beer kegs, electronic music, crowds of young people getting steadily drunk. You can play darts and table football. It’s straightforward—a themed drinking night that doesn’t pretend to be anything else.
Bremen’s hosting the tour in October on a boat. MS Treue, October 20th. Some electronic acts from France and the UK are flying in. The boat is the kind of gimmick that actually works—it makes the same beer-hall setup feel deliberately different from your regular bar, even though you know it’s the same traveling concept they’ve done in five other cities.
What actually pulls you in is obvious: your friends are going, you want the excuse to go out, and you like the feeling of something that’s happening instead of just another evening at the bar. The boat helps with that feeling—mounted deer heads on the water, beer, music, everyone getting loud.
The Wirtshaus Tour doesn’t need to be clever. It just needs to exist, and it does.
