Ran into this somewhere online and had to sit with it for a minute. The idea that you need to get your life in order, sort yourself out, do the responsible thing—and then maybe, only then, you’re allowed to lose your mind chemically. As if the clean room is the entry fee. As if discipline and dissolution are on a timeline. The whole thing is funny in a way that actually stings a little.
