Hurts: Illuminated

Hurts are one of those bands that made you feel less alone in the dark. Their whole thing—the synths, the reverb, Theo Hutchcraft’s voice drifting through all that neon melancholy—it was perfect for late nights and the kind of thinking you don’t do in the daytime. They never got huge, which feels right somehow. The biggest bands are rarely the ones that actually matter to you.
