Those Who Came

Sasha Kurmaz’s work sits in that space between documentation and dream. Those Who Came carries the weight of a title that asks you to imagine who, from where, under what circumstances. There’s something about the restraint in that—the refusal to explain itself immediately—that pulls you in. I don’t know if it’s a film or a series or something harder to categorize, but that uncertainty is part of what makes it work. It asks questions without pestering you for answers. You finish it and you’re left with the specific texture of something, not a lesson.
