The Wirtshaus Tour didn’t apologize for mixing tradition and modernity—it was just a traveling beer hall that would set up in different cities with electronic music and DJs instead of polka bands. Someone figured out that you didn’t have to choose, that you could have both in the same room, getting drunk together. The concept feels obvious once it exists, which is usually how you know it’s good. There’s something right about a subwoofer rattling the wood and brass of a beer hall. It’s the kind of collision that shouldn’t work but does.
