Born to Lose

There’s something about bands that come out of the noise and refuse to sand down their edges. Weed, that grinding sludge, the kind of thing that plays basement clubs to maybe thirty people who actually get it. Born to Lose—the whole Johnny Thunders philosophy, the punk refusal to become digestible. These aren’t bands trying to break through. They’re doing the opposite, making music that actively repels the casual listener, that demands something from you. You show up because you know what you’re in for. Not to be entertained. Because this is real and it doesn’t care if you’re listening.
