Mixtape: Only Your Cat Loves You
Sitting alone at home, wondering what happened. The party invitations come through—decent ones, people I actually like—and I still choose the couch. Getting older, I’m thinking seriously about getting a cat, just something that loves you back without asking for anything in return.
That’s the shape of life at this age. Not wanting the crowds, but something warm that simply accepts you.
I haven’t actually gotten the cat. So here’s a playlist instead. Soft and rough mixed together—the kind of thing I put on when solitude stops feeling like loneliness and starts feeling like the only choice that makes sense. You listen and realize the quiet is fine.
