Paz de la Huerta: By The Pool

There’s something about a woman at the edge of a pool at a certain angle of light—that specific moment before anything happens. Paz in that scene has this look that’s neither performing for the camera nor pretending not to be watched. Just exists there, suspended, which is probably the hardest thing to do on screen. The pool itself becomes less important than the fact that she’s comfortable enough to sit still in front of it.
