Sin, Pray, Love
During our visit to the Städel Museum in Frankfurt, Hyunjung and I also checked out the special exhibition there on Mary Magdalene. This saint, who was branded a sinner, has been one of the most fascinating female figures in the Bible and art history for centuries. She appears not only as a canvas for cultural and religious ideas, but also as an independent figure who embodies diverse notions of the body, faith, and social roles.
