Live and Learn
As part of the orientation week for our master's programme, we saw a few presentations by our lecturers and professors. They were meant to give us a small glimpse into the various subject areas we can explore over the next two years. Much of it revolves around AI, robotics, and the question of how technology can be used to make the future as pleasant as possible. Now we've been asked to put together our study plan for the semester and choose the seminars that interest us most. Among others, I chose the courses Applied Artificial Intelligence for Telecommunication, Participatory and Creative Methods for the Application Field Smart Living, and Grassroots Digital Infrastructures: Censorship, Circumvention, and Design for Internet Freedom. I've also enrolled in courses such as Ubiquitous Computing, Usable Security and Introduction to Sociology. And since I'm planning to spend another stay abroad in Japan next year, there's an advanced Japanese language course on top of that.
