Biography

Marcel Winatschek was born on January 5, 1984 in Buchloe, Bavaria, and later worked both in Berlin and Tokyo as a media designer, programmer and blogger. He became known to a wide audience as the editor of online magazines such as AMY&PINK, NEUE ELITE and JAPOP, as well as collaborations with publications such as Welt, Vice and Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Already as a child, Marcel preferred to deal with electronic machines and immersed himself early in the infinite and once still undiscovered vastness of the global web. His more or less secret passions include films about the end of mankind, lost music from the eighties and the Japanese way of life in general.

Today Marcel, whom the industry magazine Meedia once described as the blogging pimp of the Miley Cyrus generation and whose probably most prominent project AMY&PINK was described by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung as extremely successful and the hipster's Bild-Zeitung, is studying Interactive Media at Augsburg Technical University of Applied Sciences. He also writes texts about modern design, computer science and digital pop culture and publishes them regularly on the Internet.
