845 Minutes Remaining

Getting video onto a DVD on a Mac is harder than it has any right to be. iMovie HD offers a wall of export formats with options inside options, none of them self-explanatory, and after two hours of one attempt the progress bar said 845 minutes remaining. God.

I wanted DivX, which iMovie advertises as a supported format, until I realized DivX needs to be installed separately or iMovie silently falls back to embarrassing quality. Everyone at school keeps asking when the video will be done. I’d thought this part would be the easy bit. It is not.

Also: Rebecca and I broke up today. Too much had been wrong for too long. I wish her well, and I mean that.
