The O.C. gave us Chrismukkah—Seth Cohen’s portmanteau holiday combining the best of Christmas and Hanukkah into something that was, by his own accounting, eight days of presents followed by even more presents. He pitched it with the energy of a man who had genuinely cracked the code, and honestly, the case was hard to argue with. It colonized the way I think about December. The secular miracle of it.
