Into the Microphone

The podcast exists now. In December 2005 that was a minor act of ambition—podcasting was still a slightly unhinged RSS experiment, audio files drifting through iTunes directories to a handful of iPods owned by people who read too many tech blogs. Making one felt like raising a flag on a very small hill. I put music in it, picked topics I actually cared about, tried to make it sound like something worth an earbud.

It was probably better than it had any right to be.
