The First Crop Tops of the Year
Spring showed up today, and if it disappears again I’ll be furious. First girls out in short tops on the street—very welcome sight. I played some World of Warcraft in the morning, then watched an episode and a half of The O.C. Season 3 in English: will Marissa trade her old friends for new ones? Will Julie survive being completely broke? Will Kirsten and Sandy ever find their way back to what they were? Questions upon questions, and genuinely no idea where any of it’s heading.
After that I went to Mille’s and we watched a horror film called Boogeyman—trashy in all the expected ways but weirdly watchable, right up until the ending, which was just bad. The alternate ending they’d cut in wasn’t any better.
We were going to visit Eniz, Ali, and everyone, but nobody was home, so we changed course and ended up at Iri and Ana’s instead. The three of us went to the gym after—first time in about a month, which felt both good and faintly pathetic. Then Ana and I stood in the dark outside a Lidl for fifteen minutes waiting for her dad. Genuinely a solid day. The sun does something to me. And Shakira and Wyclef Jean’s Hips Don’t Lie has been on repeat since this morning, which didn’t hurt.
