Today Lydia turns eighteen, which settles several long-running bets about whether she’d ever actually grow. Our correspondents at CNN and National Geographic have confirmed: no. Still not taller than a park bench. Doesn’t matter—she knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it, which is more than most people manage at twice her age. She and her almost-new love are about to cause some trouble together, at least until she gets herself shipped off to Brazil and ends her days on a veranda somewhere tropical. All the best, Lydi.
