The Underground Goes Live

This journal has been quiet for a week, and the reason is Chikatetsu—a new magazine I’ve been building about Japanese trends, lifestyle, and culture that finally went online a few days ago. Chikatetsu is Japanese for "subway," which felt like an apt name for something meant to move you through a city you can’t quite reach from here. Japan has a pull I’ve never fully explained, even to myself. The magazine is my attempt to do something useful with that obsession.
