Japan, Web Design, and One Magnificent Swindle

After some months of wandering in the wrong mental direction, I’ve found my way back to the two things that genuinely move me: web design and Japan. It took an elderly Japanese man in an Asian bookshop to get me there—he charged me too much for a book I absolutely had to have, and something clarified on the walk home. There’s a certain dignity in being swindled for the right thing.

So 2008 is the year I let these two obsessions collide properly. Another year of cheerful sole-ruler Bush in office, sex as far as the eye can see, and new stories from me—about Japan, about design, and about that yellow creature living at the bottom of the ocean with a pink starfish for a best friend. I like that guy.

And one deserved shoutout to my namesake, who is doing genuinely impressive things on his blog. Respect. Had to be said.
