Aydee, Are You Out There
I have developed a crush on a stranger from the internet, which is not new, but this one has a specific texture I want to document. Her name is Aydee. She’s a model on Abby Winters, an Australian site that shoots regular women—not industry regulars, just actual people—and does it without making you feel like you need to shower afterward. That’s genuinely rare and I find the whole thing weirdly appealing beyond the obvious reasons.
She’s from Melbourne, she studies law, her birthday is March 27th, and she’s 19. I know this because I did what I always do with anyone who interests me: went down the search rabbit hole until I had a rough outline of a person. Blue eyes, a little fuller than the stick-figure standard, and somehow I’m completely gone for it.
I know this is unhinged. I’m aware. But this journal has readers now—apparently even some international ones—and I want to test what that actually means. So: Aydee, if you somehow end up here, I saw you on Abby Winters and I think you’re genuinely lovely and I’d like to hear from you. Sometimes you throw something into the void just to see if the void throws something back.
