A Room in Charlottenburg

Found a place in Berlin. A studio in a student residence on Suarezstraße in Charlottenburg—bathroom, kitchen, and free wireless all included. It means I can finally stop sending Cedric on reconnaissance missions across the city, which, honestly, is overdue. Thanks for that, man.

I leave in mid-August. If anyone reading this is also moving into the same building around then—student, trainee, Australian intern, whoever—get in touch. I’d like to arrive knowing at least one person to wander the neighborhood with from day one.

Living in a student dorm has been one of those low-level fantasies I’ve carried for years. The particular atmosphere of it—shared walls, borrowed plates, conversations in the corridor at two in the morning. Now I get to have that without actually enrolling anywhere, which feels like cheating in the best possible way. And if it turns out I can’t stand it, East Berlin isn’t far. That’s the fallback.
