Hello, world

The themes I’d been making were finding readers outside Germany—emails arriving in English, questions from places I hadn’t thought about. At some point it felt off to keep the whole site in German when the work itself was clearly traveling further. So I added a language toggle and committed to writing everything in both.

It’s a stranger thing than it sounds, writing the same post twice. German compresses differently—you can load a lot of meaning into a single word and trust that it lands. English tends to sprawl, which sometimes forces precision and sometimes just produces more sentences. The same thoughts come out with slightly different edges depending on which language you draft them in first. The jokes shift. The tone shifts. I don’t know if that’s translation or just writing.

Static pages already done, links scheduled for a full overhaul, and the blog itself starts here. If there’s anyone on the other end of the English toggle: hello.
