A Snowboard Film Worth Its Soundtrack
Oakley made a film. Ostensibly it has something to do with a sunglasses collection—there’s a title, Uniquely, and a marketing rationale buried somewhere under the credits—but what it actually turns out to be is one of the best snowboard and surf films I’ve seen, and I’ve watched my share of these things.
The cutting is sharp. The camera work is genuinely interesting rather than just competent. The music holds its own. Beautiful locations that earn their place on screen. The whole thing moves like it was made by people who actually cared about the film rather than just completing a branded deliverable, which in the world of sponsored action sports content is not a given. I found it through Cooler, which consistently surfaces this kind of thing before anyone else does.
