They Fixed It and Ruined Everything
For years I’ve happily ridiculed MySpace—the hideous layouts, the designs you could technically customize but only into something worse, the absolute conceptual chaos baked into every corner of it. It was the world’s ugliest website and I found that genuinely endearing in the way you find a disaster endearing.
Today they relaunched it clean. Orderly. Streamlined. It looks like every other forgettable community site that has ever quietly existed. Live your life with MySpace,
the new tagline goes. Sure. The era of the chaotic, unnavigable, defiantly anti-intuitive MySpace is apparently over. I don’t miss it exactly. But now what do I mock?
