Three Minutes of Everything Worth Celebrating

Full disclosure: I found this through Sara, who has the best music taste on the internet and consistently beats me to everything by about thirty minutes. The guilt is real. The apology is not.

Prinz Pi—born Friedrich Kautz, formerly known as Prinz Porno, Berlin rapper, probable past-life identity as P. Diddy—is one of the sharper voices coming out of the German capital. "3 Minuten" is the track, and in three tight minutes it covers the time-honored pillars of young, unvarnished life: drinking until you vomit, vomiting until you feel better, and groping someone in a dark corner while the bass drops. Not without a sideways look at the party-porn-coke circuit either, which keeps it from being pure anthem and gives it just enough self-awareness to avoid being stupid. Good track. The video is filthier than it deserves to be, and that’s a compliment.

Sara called me fat once, so I’m entitled to repurpose her discoveries. That’s the arrangement. She’s not here to argue.
