What Paris Looks Like Through a Lens

Some photography just looks exactly like what photography is supposed to look like. Loic Peoch works out of Paris, mostly in black and white, and his images have that quality where the light seems negotiated rather than found. The models are beautiful in the particular way Parisian editorial tends to produce beautiful people: like they have somewhere better to be, which somehow makes it harder to look away.

The man himself is also, objectively, not suffering in the looks department. French accent, presumably lethal. There’s something almost unfair about a photographer who produces that kind of work and apparently has no problem getting people to show up for it. Isch bums disch auf dem Stein, as the mock-accent seduction line goes. You get the idea.
