Something Loud for a Nothing Morning
Outside: grey, flat, a sky the color of an unfiled form. This kind of morning calls for something loud and slightly stupid, and Marmaduke Duke—the side project of Simon Neil from Biffy Clyro and Justin Lockey—delivered exactly that with "Rubber Lover." The video is nothing. The song, though, starts working on you before you’ve decided if you actually like it: synthetic, pushy, dumb in the best possible way. It didn’t fix the morning. It interrupted it, which was enough.
