Thirty Degrees in the Shade

A friend named Basti sent me this track and now I can’t stop playing it. MyKey Berlin—who looks like the younger sibling Sido never knew he had (Sido being the Berlin rapper who wore a bucket on his head before he got famous and then respectable)—has a song called 30°C im Schatten, "Thirty Degrees in the Shade," and it is exactly that: a summer track about a city baking in afternoon heat with nowhere urgent to be and no desire to get there.

I want this to be Berlin’s summer anthem. Not rhetorically—actually want it. The way you feel a good city song in your chest before you’ve even processed the lyrics. Not every place gets one that fits this well. Berlin does, and this might be it.
