Filippa in Motion

Filippa Smeds is one of those people I just can’t stop looking at. The Swedish redhead—she blogs, she photographs herself, she has this whole earnest unselfconscious quality—has been hovering at the edge of my attention for a while. Then photographer Emma Svensson put her in front of a camera alongside Linn Gustafsson, Emma Elwin, Emma Nygren, Karoline Andersson, Sandra Hansson, Miriam Assai, Signe Siemsen, and Cissi Wallin, and published a backstage video of the whole shoot.

The Sonnets, a Swedish band, provided the music, and it fits the season perfectly—light and warm and open, the kind of thing that should be playing through a rolled-down window somewhere, not, as it’s been here lately, drowned out by rain coming down like someone’s dumping buckets. Filippa in motion turns out to be even better than Filippa in stills, which I didn’t think was possible. I’m a fan. I’m ordering the T-shirt.
