I declared this a genuine slob weekend—no going out, no plans, maximum horizontal living. Which is how I ended up deep in Sorry I Missed Your Party, a site that collects found photographs of people at parties.

Not destruction, not blackout carnage—something stranger and better. A man peering through a cardboard tube with the concentration of a surgeon. A beachgoer who has achieved a state of horizontal immobility that borders on the geological. The worst school picnic in recorded history. The common thread is that everyone involved appears to be trying their best, and their best is making things considerably worse.
