Brandon Flowers’ Annual Gift

Since 2006, The Killers have released a charity Christmas single every year—a different one each time, always somewhere between genuinely moving and mildly absurd, always Brandon Flowers committing to the premise with the same total conviction he brings to his actual work. Boots for Christmas is the 2010 entry, and it has exactly the quality that makes these tracks work: the delivery is completely sincere, which makes the whole enterprise both charming and slightly ridiculous in equal measure.
