I’ve been waiting for an Uffie album since roughly the middle ages. Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans finally came out, and with it the video for "ADD SUV"—her collaboration with Pharrell Williams, who remains the nerdiest man alive and somehow still the coolest. They cruise through a city at night, look around a bit, and at the end she gets fucked by the police. So far, so middling.

Uffie cannot sing. This is not a controversial take. Pharrell’s presence doesn’t fix it—nothing fixes it—and I’ve never cared. Not since the first time I heard her. In my head she’ll always be the personified coolness stumbling through some nocturnal adventure, open-hearted and a little trashy in exactly the right way. You can’t manufacture that. Whatever she’s missing technically, she makes up for in something that sounds like being young and not giving a shit at all. Uffie, you little bitch. I love you.
