What Altitude Does to a Bar Crawl

The Jägermeister Wirtshaus Tour took us through a string of alpine inns—the kind of places with taxidermy on the walls and regulars who’ve been sitting at the same table since before you were born. Jäger flows differently at altitude, or maybe that’s just what it feels like at one in the morning when you’re somewhere between the valley and the summit and the next bar is still open. The Alps do something to a night out. They make it feel earned, even when it obviously wasn’t.
