Before the Drop

Skream was one of the architects. Oliver Jones from Croydon, part of the original Southside scene alongside Benga and Digital Mystikz, helping build something out of sub-bass frequencies that felt genuinely new—heavy, dark, designed to make club floors resonate at frequencies you feel before you hear them. By 2011 he was already looking outward, toward house, toward something less claustrophobic. "Anticipate" sits in that transitional moment with surprising patience. It knows exactly where it’s going. It just refuses to rush.
