jj are a Swedish duo who make music that sounds like it was recorded inside a snowstorm with the volume turned down—glacial tempos, borrowed melodies, vocals arriving from somewhere just off to the side. VI turned up on Christmas Eve, which is exactly right; their whole catalog has that quality of something found rather than released, quietly left on a doorstep before you could say thank you.
