Wherever Lykke Li Goes

Tabi Bonney’s Where We Gonna Go shouldn’t quite work—a DC rapper with indie-leaning instincts laid under Lykke Li’s distinctly Nordic cool, that half-broken voice she brings to everything she touches. But those unlikely pairings are often exactly where something interesting happens. Lykke Li sounds like she’s already somewhere else, already halfway through a door, and Bonney’s easy rhythm underneath gives the track a restless geography. You believe they’re going somewhere. You’re not sure either of them knows where.
