Friendship Is Zerg Rush

Someone took the StarCraft II cinematic trailer—that relentless exercise in testosterone and sci-fi grimness—and recut it with My Little Pony characters. The joke works better than it has any right to. There’s something almost poetic about the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic cast deployed in the grammar of orbital drops and epic warfare, pastel colors doing what marines do. The internet was still figuring out the brony thing in early 2011, and videos like this were part of how it announced itself: not defensively, just gleefully, completely wrong about what was and wasn’t cool.
