Hasisi Park in the Raw Light

Hasisi Park photographs bodies the way an animal would if it could hold a camera—without apology, without the aesthetic distance that makes intimate photography feel safe. Her work out of Berlin has this quality of catching something feral in her subjects: real skin, real posture, the expression that happens before someone has decided what face they’re making. Like a Dirty Dog is the right title—there’s something deliberately animal about the framing, the crouch and the crawl of it, desire stripped of its decorative pretensions and left with only its actual shape.
