Before I Love It made them inescapable, Icona Pop announced themselves with Manners, a debut EP that had no interest in being polite. The Stockholm duo—Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo—arrived with their formula already fully formed: maximalist synth production, vocals that feel like someone shouting across a party over music they love, hooks that don’t request your attention so much as seize it. Manners was the document of two people figuring out they didn’t need to ask permission.
