The Fog at the Edge of a Pop Song

Still Corners were a London duo—Tessa Murray’s voice doing that thing where it sounds transmitted from the end of a long corridor, Greg Hughes’s production always in the process of dissolving something. Cuckoo sat exactly in their pocket: slow, slightly haunted, hovering in the space between sad and dreaming. The kind of track you put on in an empty apartment on a Tuesday afternoon and then forget you’re listening to, until it ends and the silence feels wrong.
