What Jerry Hsu Noticed

Jerry Hsu spent years being photographed—professional skateboarder, part of the furniture in skate media—before turning the camera around on everything else. Nazi Gold is his self-published photo zine, a collection of personal images that have nothing to do with skating: just the world as he’s been moving through it, seen with the peripheral attentiveness of someone used to reading surfaces for danger. The title is designed to make you look twice, and then the photos have nothing to do with what the title threatens. That gap is the whole point.
