Already Degrading
Polish Girl sounds like a memory that’s already started to come apart—Alan Palomo’s voice processed into something more texture than speech, the synths doing that specific woozy shimmer that defined the chillwave moment without ever quite belonging to it. It’s from Era Extraña, Neon Indian’s second record, and where the debut felt like something discovered by accident in a humid bedroom, this one is more deliberate, more melancholy, still just as drenched in its own atmosphere. I’ve played it on too many grey Tuesday mornings to think of it as anything other than mine now.
